CutOut

Legal

Privacy Policy

Effective 14 July 2026

Your photo content is processed on your device. CutOut does not upload selected photos to Klikkit or RevenueCat for background removal.

1. Who we are

CutOut is operated by Klikkit Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17089509 ("Klikkit", "we", "us" or "our"). Klikkit Ltd is the controller for personal data described in this policy. Contact us at support@klikkit.co.uk.

2. Photos and local files

When you select photos, Apple’s Photos picker provides the chosen items to CutOut. Subject detection, background removal, compositing and resizing are performed locally using Apple frameworks. We do not operate a server that receives your photo content.

CutOut may create working copies and previews inside its private app storage while a batch is being prepared or its results are available. It removes those files when you reset or replace the batch, and clears abandoned session files older than 24 hours on a later launch. If the app or device stops unexpectedly, a temporary file may remain until that clean-up runs. Images you deliberately save or share remain wherever you choose to place them.

CutOut asks for add-only Photos permission when you choose to save results. Selecting photos through Apple’s picker does not give CutOut unrestricted access to your library.

3. Purchase and service information

Apple processes App Store payments. We do not receive your card number or Apple ID credentials. To display products, verify purchases, restore access and keep Pro entitlement status in sync, CutOut uses RevenueCat.

RevenueCat may process an app-generated purchaser identifier, product identifiers, transaction and subscription status, country, price and currency information, app/device technical information and network information such as an IP address. We use this information for app functionality, purchase support, aggregate purchase analytics and fraud or error investigation. CutOut does not require an account, and we do not deliberately attach the RevenueCat purchaser identifier to your name or email address.

Read the service providers’ notices at RevenueCat Privacy and Apple Privacy.

4. Diagnostics

Apple may provide us with crash and performance diagnostics if you have enabled sharing with app developers in iOS. Those reports are controlled by Apple and can contain technical information about the device, operating system and circumstances of a fault. CutOut does not include an advertising SDK or a separate general-purpose behavioural analytics SDK.

5. How and why we use information

Where UK data-protection law applies, our bases are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving CutOut, compliance with law and, where required, your consent.

6. Sharing, tracking and international processing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the app, principally Apple and RevenueCat, and with professional advisers or authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data, use photo content for model training, serve third-party adverts or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Apple and RevenueCat may process information outside the UK. Where required, we rely on contractual and other lawful transfer safeguards described in their privacy materials and our agreements with them.

7. Retention

Temporary photo files are retained only as described in section 2. Purchase and entitlement records are kept for as long as needed to provide or restore access, resolve disputes and satisfy legal obligations. Support emails are normally retained only while needed to handle the request and maintain an appropriate service record. Provider retention may also apply under the policies linked above.

8. Your choices and rights

You can decline Photos access and use the system share sheet instead, disable developer diagnostics in iOS Settings and manage purchases through your Apple account. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability.

To exercise a right, email support@klikkit.co.uk. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate a purchase record. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

9. Children

CutOut is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a child. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when CutOut or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page where appropriate.
